A four-month-old Cuban baby who was abandoned by his family at William Soler Pediatric heart Center in Havana has received solidarity from the workers in the center.
Vanessa Regalado, therapy nurse, explained that although unfortunately the child does not have the affection of his relatives, the institution has welcomed him and provided him with all the necessary care.
"all the colleagues who work directly or indirectly with him, we have not only been very fond of him, but we have taken care of him, professionally and personally. Today, this baby, who had absolutely nothing on his arrival, has a beautiful basket, with everything he needs, all thanks to the kindness and love of all the workers in the center, of friends and family," he said.
Regalado referred to publications that have circulated on social media in recent days, calling for help for the baby on the grounds that it has nothing, which she claims is totally false.
"the kind nurses of therapy 1 buy for him butts, wet wipes and other things of first need, we even take turns to wash his clothes personally. I Don't despise anyone's good intentions and appreciate the concern. Today danger Núñez Tamayo, more affectionately known as Tilin, only needs love, love and love," he said. "I Don't despise anyone's good intentions and we appreciate the concern. Today, danger Núñez Tamayo, known more affectionately as Tilin, needs only love, love and love," he stressed.
Other people on the Internet have expressed concern about the baby's situation, for whom they have asked for donations of clothing and items that children their age require such as butts and bottles.
"this little four-month-old baby is admitted to the William Soler, with no family, he was dumped and needs many people with a good heart. (...) Please Don't accept money...", Laurie Amanda Maique requested on her Facebook wall.
The sowing Esperanza project, a non-profit non-governmental organization to help Cuban children, also noted that the baby's family does not care for it.
"we're going to be organizing a collection of clothes, food, toilet, whatever we can get back for that Prince," he announced.
This is not the first time that social media has been used to get Cubans to ask for help for an abandoned baby.
In 2019, several people reported the case of Vaiton, a six-month-old child whom his mother left in the same pediatric hospital in Havana, after undergoing delicate surgery.
This was made known on Facebook by Laurie Beatriz Batista, who demanded the solidarity of the people towards little Vaiton, who was admitted to intermediate therapy, and who was in need of disposable diapers and other items.
Shortly after that post, Batista posted on the same social network photos with donations received for Vaiton, such as wet wipes, bottles and clothes.
"God bless him and the person who took these little things straight to the hospital, and insists on remaining anonymous," he said.
