The young altruist shared with El Vigía that there are currently 30 girls and boys, who do not have access to the internet, study materials and even appropriate clothing for the winter season. In the context, she began these activities as a tribute to her father, who helped different childhoods who learned that there is an opportunity for a better future in sports or other goals that were proposed. He recalled that in December 2021 he organized an inn for this sector, with the help of donors, and from there he selected a group of beneficiaries who come to his house, where they receive different educational materials .It is something that I do with a lot of heart and affection: I want to support people, mainly children, since I had a very hard childhood. With the Covid I saw that many families were stressed by school tasks, the lack of internet or that they are only cared for by their grandmothers, which makes the learning process difficult, he said. Due to the pandemic, many families were left without work, continued Jowanna Collins, and they live with stress, anxiety, fear and uncertainty, so the goal is to help with the education of these children for a year.My goal is to get computers or tablets, install internet and get tables and benches so that continue with your tasks, the young woman affirmed. that they develop as good people.Childhood with deprivations Jowanna Collins said that the group consists of children between the ages of 2 and 10, who are cared for in three groups with various activities at home; she even got them lots of clothes and shoes, after a donation from a close friend. For this, she has bought them notebooks, pencils, colors, markers, pencil sharpeners, scissors, and rubber bands, so they can stay active with homework and crafts; He has even brought them pizza, as some had never tried this type of food. As part of the project, he will expect them to form a soccer team or visit local businesses to learn about the different activities that take place in the port. The groups are: Baby (2-4 years old), with motor activities and following the Montessori Method at home; Medio (5-8 years old), who are reinforced in writing, reading, addition and subtraction, as well as crafts and sports activities and Maxi (9-10 years old), who receive accompaniment and are encouraged to share their emotions and feelings. She emphasized that for activities at home, all hygiene measures are respected, to avoid chains of contagion, in addition to only maintaining contact with direct family members.Small entrepreneursThe entrepreneur highlighted He wants to teach this last group how to make piñatas and piggy banks, so that they can sell them and, in turn, become small entrepreneurs. For this, they would work with recycled material, so he invited the community to make their donations. of bottles, cardboard tubes and rolls of toilet paper, buttons, aluminum cans, egg cartons and cardboard boxes. When one has been more favored than other people, I feel it is a civic duty to provide support. I focus more on children because they have started, they have a future ahead of them. If they are taught well from the beginning, it can be very useful, he highlighted. Jowanna Collins mentioned that this project has begun to yield results, since the Puppy Place Dog Grooming accepted a visit from the little ones, to teach them basic care how to bathe pets, so that they can replicate it and serve as learning.
