HERMOSILLO, Sonora.- In a small room at the top of the hill in the Insurgentes neighborhood, the family of Perla Aldama Ríos, who for weeks had to move after losing their home, began their home again.

She recounted that the cardboard house in which they lived was destroyed and caught fire due to a family fight, in which she lost almost all of her belongings.

“We have been here for a month and a little while, we have moved about five times, we don't have a house and even here they lent it to us,” she commented.

Until she had the opportunity to find a new home, she explained that they were going to stay in the place for a while, despite being just a room made of material with a roof that is useless.

The family resists with what they can the conditions of their home on the top of the hill, since the roof has holes, she pointed out, and therefore it is very cold that enters, in addition to the recent rain this month.

"The day it rained I got wet, they stayed in the dry patch, I fell asleep and woke up all wet," she said.

SELLS CRAFTS

With the sale of handicrafts made of recycled material or arrangements of the season, she mentioned that her husband pays for the daily food expenses and what is needed in her home.

She said that in the fire they lost especially the children's clothes and she would be grateful if someone could give a few changes of clothes, shoes and blankets to her two daughters, ages 6 and 7, in addition to her 8-year-old son who is as tall as a child. 12 years old.

For now, the family has no plans to celebrate Christmas.
