And if Molière were alive...
"Whoever robs a thief has a hundred years of forgiveness" goes the saying. What would Molière have done if he were alive now? The question was asked by Juan Carlos Rubio himself and from his answer was born the production that can now be enjoyed in La Latina. "Host". «It is a story of cloned beings who live the amazing paradox of seeing themselves skinned out, a mixture of the divine and the human, passions and hatred, infidelities and desires, laughter and some other feeling with the healthy purpose of entertaining” or that is, at least, the vision of its author. With veterans in this of the tables. Pepón Nieto, Toni Acosta, Fele Martínez, José Troncoso, Dani Muriel and María Ordóñez.

Corea at Casa de Vacas
The exhibition organized by Casa Asia at Casa de Vacas, in El Retiro, brings together the work of fourteen Korean artists. They are the visible faces of the new wave of contemporary art in the Asian country. «Fourteen short stories» shows the state of the culture of a country through the stories of its artists, filmmakers, writers and, in general, all those professionals in the field of visual arts, since they provide essential information for its knowledge. As the organizers of the exhibition point out, in no case is a single story presented, but what is exhibited has a multiplier effect, as can be seen from the trips that each work proposes. Thus, the works of this group of artists are presented in five different formats that are connected to each other through their interpretation of painting, video, photography, installation or sculpture.

Revisiting the roots
The dancer and choreographer Sara Cano, with an eclectic career that ranges from Spanish dance to flamenco, through contemporary dance or folklore, proposes a show in which people connect, dance and feel in a plural space and dialogue in which dance flows beyond forms and labels, taking the roots of our folklore as a starting point. Thus, the charro dance and Andalusian folklore coexist naturally with the muñeiras or the Aragonese jota to the rhythm of renovators of the musical tradition such as Eliseo Parra, Kalakán or Coetus. The proposal is called «I come!». He takes as a reference the "I come from grinding brunette..." from the well-known lyrics of La Molinera, and from there he undertakes a rereading of our hallmarks and our roots. The production has been awarded the Max 2020 Award for Best Choreography and allows us to reflect on the idea of folklore as a living and changing art, open to evolution and that connects with the present to reconcile where we come from and where we are going.

Not only the guilty ones
"I never" talks about sex, talks about how we understand sex today, about how we have grown up with an often mistaken idea of what sex is. What have we done as a society so that a rape cannot be understood as a rape? What have we done so that there are violations that go unnoticed even by the protagonists of them? The authors of the work denounce that in Spain a woman is raped every eight hours, and this is not a problem that affects only the guilty. It is a problem of a society that educates men in control and power and women in submission. With the testimonies of the actors themselves, we have created a text and investigated this problem. «I, never» is a young and current cry that advocates the liberation of women in all aspects of society.
