The US will support families with 300 dollars a month for each child from July

EFE.- The Government of the United States will distribute, from next July 15, up to 300 dollars a month in a tax credit for each minor child as help to some 39 million households to alleviate the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic The White House announced Monday.

This measure is part of the economic relief package enacted in February by President Joe Biden, and "provides tax relief to working middle-class families and families with children in difficulty," according to the statement.

"With today's announcement, approximately 90% of families with children will get this new tax relief automatically starting in July," he added.

The tax credit increases the benefit for each child up to 6 years of age from $2,000 to $3,600 per year, and families will receive assistance at a rate of $300 per month until the end of the year.

For families with children between the ages of 6 and 17, the tax credit increases from $500 to $3,000, and their monthly checks will be $250 for each child.

Another expansion of government assistance with the Biden Administration extends a $500 credit for dependent children over the age of 18, who were excluded from the previous program.

Since payments begin in the middle of the year, the other half of this tax credit will be distributed monthly, from July to December. The other half will be expressed as a deduction on the 2021 income tax return.

To qualify for this benefit, children must be children, siblings, stepchildren, adopted children, half-siblings, step-siblings, or descendants, such as a grandchild, nephew, or cousin of the adult holder in the household.

Within his proposed Plan for Families, Biden called for the child tax credit to be extended through 2025, but for now it is only in effect for this year, and it is unlikely that Republicans, who have already opposed the revival plan, will Please support this extension of benefits.
