Shopping for clothes at the mall is an activity that is best enjoyed with the best attitude and full of patience, but sometimes that patience can be diluted when you see the prices of clothes and the worst thing is to compare them with girls' clothes. Although there are garments that easily fit both sexes, physical distinctions exist and on many occasions the sizes do not usually coincide.

The famous pink tax on feminine hygiene and personal care products exists and is definitely not justified at all. On the other side of the coin there is also an imbalance in basic clothing between men and women. Sometimes it gets so big that it is common to hear a comparison about how many clothes she would have bought if she were a girl with the money she only bought two jeans. Is this analogy real?

In stores such as "low cost" it is usual for pants, sweatshirts or basic t-shirts to be more expensive for men than for women. The answer seems to be that textile shops raise the prices of men's clothing since men buy, on average, fewer clothes than women.

According to the study carried out by the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) based in Spain, women spend 23.2% of their budget dedicated to leisure and entertainment to buy clothes and footwear, while men only spend 12, 3%. The study showed that they spend their budget on parties, drinks, dinners or meals.

In accessories, sunglasses or watches are usually more expensive in the case of men. Watches seem to be the equivalent in women's shoes, because sometimes it becomes an obsession, but if the budget is limited one or two watches will take a large part of the budget.

According to another report published by Ape to Gentleman, men are more willing to pay more for basic outfits that in turn become the center of their appearance. A more marked style than something temporary.

Whether it's a casual look or a formal look, “basic necessities like this I think are ready to pay more,” says Alessandro Sartori, Zegna's artistic director.

Another reason, men dress more informally and basic clothing becomes a must in a more excessive way. The durability of clothing is another factor that they take into account when dressing, for example, the wonder of jeans is that quality jeans for a moderately high price are justified because they can be used for years.
