VALENCIA.The La Nau Cultural Center of the University of Valencia will host this Saturday, October 30, at 12 noon, a dramatized reading of the 1931 session newspaper to honor the figure of Clara Campoamor on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the female suffrage. The act will be attended by the rector of the University of Valencia, María Vicenta Mestre, and the Government delegate in the Valencian Community, Gloria Calero, among other personalities.
The reading, promoted by Margarita Borja, author of the text, produced by the Passó Per Sagunt Theater group and directed by the writer and actress Amparo Vayá, will be held in the Paraninfo.Margarita Borja is the author and director of the textual synthesis of session newspapers in the Congress of Deputies in 2007, motivated by Deputy Carmen Alborch. The dramatized reading recreates the passionate speeches collected in the constitutional sessions of the female vote;A unique occasion to make known, through theater, an indispensable figure in the history of feminism.
The sessions of the women's suffrage debate during the Second Republic in 1931 are a "vibrant" succession of interventions on a tension political playing field, given the expectation of the change of social and cultural paradigm that was coming. The author of the work affirms that "if the generic woman achieves presence, voice and legality as an emancipated political subject, the privileges of male guardianship that have secularly constrained women will transform into a castle of cards".In this way, with a luminous and coherent oratory, Clara Campoamor achieved success, which will later become a long exile.
Passó Per Sagunt is a cultural association that has 13 years of compilation of historical events relevant to the city of Sagunto represented through theater. His career, which began in 2009 with 'The destruction of Sagunt', has continued with other tributes to history such as 'win or die', from Panxo Barrera, or 'The city factoring', by Albert Forment and directed by AmparoOh.In addition, Passó Per Sagunt celebrates 16 years with the representation of ‘Passió in Viu’, an act included in the programming of Holy Week Saguntina that coincides with the origin of the association.
