Andrea Katherine, like many mothers who suffer the disappearance of a child , became the main investigator of the case. “I will not get tired of looking for her, I have dreamed of her a lot, I feel her close to her and I know that I will have her back. My mother's heart tells me that my daughter is alive”, says Andrea, 27 years old. In her house, she keeps her daughter's favorite toys, whom they affectionately call 'Nana' or 'Lupe'. Andrea tightly holds a brown bear with a ribbon around her neck: "This is her favorite doll, she never left it, I keep it with other toys like the armatodo and a little elephant, tiger and rhinoceros train." MissingThat Saturday, December 1, 2018, Andrea Katherine left her children -Danna, then 1 year and seven months old, and Joan, 3 years old- under the care of a nanny named Rosalba, who lived in the same house for rent, in the town of Usme, south of Bogotá. (Also read: I am looking for my daughter 25 years ago: the strange kidnappings that terrified Suba) Rosalba had gained Andrea's trust to leave the children in charge while she worked as a salesperson in the center of Bogotá . However, that day at 11 in the morning, her worst nightmare would begin. “I left my ordinary children with her, she calls me and tells me that two men had arrived on a motorcycle asking for me and that since she was not there, they had taken the girl.” The nanny said that the alleged assailants demanded that they be paid 1 million pesos the next day. However, according to the investigators, there are things that do not add up in the story that the nanny made. She told the mother that she could not go near the house because the kidnappers had her under surveillance, that she should not notify the police and that, rather, she should dedicate herself to looking for the money if she wanted to have the child. “Her attitude seemed suspicious to me, she sounded very calm, as if nothing had happened, she notified the owner of the house and her neighbors some time later. No one heard screams, or anyone asking for help, ”says Danna's mother. There are other things that make Andrea doubt her innocence. “One day that lady told me that she had heard that children were being robbed in the neighborhoods and she asked me: what would she do if she lost her children? I replied: 'I go crazy'. Why did she have to tell me that?" (Also read: Missing girls, what is happening and why do they run away from home?) She affirms that there is not a single day that she does not think of her daughter. She perfectly remembers the clothes she was wearing on the day of her disappearance : white shoes, pink pants with pockets and a white jacket. "She was chubby, with her cute curls and bushy eyebrows," she recalls nostalgically. She is clear about her favorite shows: Peppa Pig, Mad Cow and children's rounds. The same ones that she continues to listen to for her other two children. Johan, 5 years old; and Rosa, barely 9 months old. "When I arrived before he greeted me, he would search my bag, take out what I had, and then he would hug me," recalls Andrea with a laugh.
Two years and three months have passed without Andrea knowing the truth about what happened to her daughter. Next April 12 Danna Guadalupe will be 4 years old, once again separated from her family “I don't know in whose hands she will be. I only ask God that she is well and that she can get her back soon”, says Andrea. Andrea lived with her children and her partner in the same house, in the Monteblanco neighborhood (Usme) , until 6 months ago, keeping the hope that at some point someone will look for her, but they have not found any accurate clues. “The first few days she felt her presence in the bathroom, on the patio and in the kitchen. When I was cooking she was happy, she was behind me seeing what she was doing and asking me to give her. She liked pasta soup, chicken, chocolate with bread, yogurt, and cookies. Her favorite sweet was bom bom bum”, says Andrea. Two months after her disappearance , little Danna was already taking her first steps and saying her first words: “mom, dad, pepe, bread, cookies”, Andrea recalls. Rosalba was arrested as allegedly responsible for the murder of a woman, which occurred in September of last year in that city and is also being investigated for other disappearances. Several times the authorities have tried to get Rosalba to confess where little Danna Guadalupe is, but she denies her responsibility. in disappearance. The last interrogation took place this week.
