We live in a moment in which the binary distinction of genders is heading towards obsolescence; Millennials and Generation Z are asking for it. However, for decades many people have defended being who they want to be without ascribing to being feminine or masculine, and fashion has always been one of the most powerful tools to express this conviction. Whether for this reason, or simply for the pleasure of wearing men's clothing, women like Paloma Piccaso blurred the boundaries between the male and female wardrobe. A mission in which Yves Saint Laurent undoubtedly also collaborated when designing Le Smoking for women. Now, Anthony Vaccarello takes the daughter of Pablo Piccaso -who, in addition to being a designer and artist, was also a muse and friend of Saint Laurent- as inspiration for his Spring/Summer 2022 collection for the house, and that is why the flamenco -a version of Se nos romó el amor by Rocío Jurado, specifically- will accompany the walk of the models. With the Eiffel Tower in the background, Saint Laurent once again paraded at Paris Fashion Week with a great show that marked his post-pandemic return to the catwalk.

Comparing a jacket with a dress in the same look is the best (or at least the most elegant) synthesis of the disruption of classic genres. This last one is especially important, since, although the designer supports and looks for that mix of men/women, there is something that, he has confessed, he does not like about the youngest: "I am tired of seeing all those oversized jackets on Instagram, I wanted to show what a well-cut jacket looks like".
