They start a campaign to collect food and clothing for La Palma

Helping those affected by the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano on La Palma from Cartagena is possible. The businesses of the Open Shopping Center of Cartagena, in the historic center of the city, have launched a campaign to collect basic necessities that they will be in charge of sending directly to the Canary Islands.

Anyone who wants to contribute their grain of sand to alleviate the situation of the palmeros who have lost everything from the port city, just have to go to any of the more than 40 establishments attached to the Open Shopping Center of Cartagena to deliver the products.

“All help is little,” says Antonio Sánchez Casado, president of the Centro Comercial Abierto de Cartagena Merchants Association.

From clothing of all sizes for men, women and children to food that is not perishable, passing through personal hygiene products to "kitchenware, sheets, kitchen utensils and in short, everything essential in a house, you have to take into account that the lava has swallowed everything, “says Sánchez Casado.

The shops in Cartagena will send all the collection to the merchants of La Palma and they will be in charge of distributing it on the island.
