Vigo perdió este lunes a un precursor de los grandes almacenes de la ciudad, Juan Manuel Cividanes Barreras. Decir Cividanes en Vigo era desde finales de los años sesenta sinónimo de ir de compras a la céntrica calle Colón en busca de la moda más actual llegada incluso de Londres. Hasta el establecimiento se acercaban no solo los vigueses y vecinos de los municipios del entorno, sino de toda Galicia y Portugal. 
In 2011 Juan Manuel Cividanes Barreras was awarded the Gold Medal of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Pontevedra (whose institution was vice president and treasurer), in recognition of his dedication and trajectory in the Confederation, as well as for his commercial activity, inheritancefamiliar who not only knew how to maintain, but also to promote.
