If you want to celebrate this night in a big way, there is still time and we suggest you consult the following information to find out which are the most expensive destinations in the world, according to a survey by CheapHotels.org.
The survey compared hotel prices in 50 major cities around the world. For each destination, CheapHotels.org documented the most affordable double room rate available for a 3-night stay between December 30 and January 2.
Only rated downtown hotels with at least three stars and with largely positive guest reviews were considered in the analysis.
According to CheapHotels.org, Miami Beach came in first place with a nightly rate of $365 for the cheapest room.
Three other US cities – New Orleans, Nashville and New York – followed in positions 2, 3 and 4, with rates of $304, $284 and $275, respectively, for the most affordable room.
Cancun, the popular Mexican tourist destination, turned out to be the most expensive city outside the US, with a rate of $228 per night.
Among the survey data, it was found that globally the pandemic continues to have a great impact on hotel rates, since in Dubai and Sydney, which were among the most expensive destinations on the same dates, but in 2019 before the pandemic, rates today are 40% to 50% lower this year. In Hong Kong, for example, prices fell even further by a staggering 70%.

The rates correspond to one night for a double room in its cheapest availability for the period from December 30 to January 2.
