The mayor of Medellín, Daniel Quintero, announced this Monday the total, albeit gradual, reopening of the city's economic activities, a decision made based on the good results achieved by the city in its fight against the virus covid-19.
The measure extends to the entire Aburrá Valley, since it has the support of the National Government and the other nine metropolitan mayors, who signed the decree.
The graduality extends until the month of November, when even professional soccer would be reactivated.
“We need to reactivate the economy,” said Mayor Quintero, remembering that everything will be with security protocols and a lot of personal self-care, which will guarantee that the measures are maintained.
The measure, gradual and staggered and which changed the city's orange alert to yellow, is accompanied by the decision to suspend the peak and ID as of August 31.
The economic reactivation "has been the result of the determined and disciplined work of the mayors who have put in the desire and resources to expand the hospital network," he told Mayor Quintero.
