She is known in the “beauty” world as the “Fairy” of the “lorzas”, due to her ability to break down fat, but her real name is Belkyra and she is a synthetic version of acid deoxycholic (the controversial Aqualix, which is now regulated, and allowed, for this use).

What's so special about it? That manages to break and destroy the cell membrane of fat, so that, once destroyed, it does not form again. And this is the wonder: that it allows you to eliminate adipocytes permanently (although that does not mean that, if we do not take care of ourselves, others in that same area can gain weight, and we mess it up again).

Its first use was on the double chin, but according to Dr. Paula Rosso, one of the pioneers in applying this product to the hated, and hated, "Bra-Rolls", the results are spectacular in that area, especially in people who, having tried to reduce fat through diet or exercise, have not been able to eliminate what was installed there.

The bad news? Hurts!!! Whatever the press releases I receive say, I have seen 3 patients who had it applied to their double chins, and their faces were very revealing. But with an anesthetic cream, which is applied between 30 and 60 minutes before the infiltration, the matter improves (although, even so, I think it stings a bit).

More bad news? As Dr. Rosso explains, for two or three days the area may be approximately 15% more swollen, but this swelling is welcome, because it is responsible for this retraction of the skin (pains with bread…). Swelling can last up to 72 hours and be accompanied by bruising or redness (in the cases I've seen of double chins, patients seemed to have a goiter for a few days, to give you an idea). And in some cases there is numbness in the area and a slight loss of sensitivity that would gradually disappear.

But let's go back to the good news: after a couple of weeks you start to notice the results, and they are definitive!!!

Sessions? Between two and four are needed, depending on the amount of fat, and they must be spaced a minimum of one month apart.

Price? From €950, at the Lajo Plaza Medical Center (as far as I know, for now, but I will add addresses as I learn of clinics in the rest of Spain that successfully use Belyra in these areas of the body).
